What I Purchased at the Steam Summer Sale 2017

My wallet is crying, but my Steam account is happy as I spoiled myself silly with awesome games that are all on sale. Here is what I had to have from the Steam Summer Sale 2017.

South Park: The Stick of Truth

If you all didn’t know, I live in Colorado and been here for many years. I’ve actually driven through the town South Park in Park County and have been watching this show for many, many years. I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t played South Park: The Stick of Truth yet. However, it’s 75% off bringing the price to $7.49 right now. I couldn’t say no to the price.

Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition

Ori and the Blind Forest is a game that has been on my list to buy since I first saw and played it at GDC 2016. The graphics are absolutely stunning and I wanted to know why people love this game so much. Now I can. Plus, it was announced at E3 that they’re working on the second game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps currently. I can’t wait to play both. Currently it’s 50% off at a price of $9.99.

Crypt of the NecroDancer

Crypt of the NecroDancer is a game I have heard high praises about by people in the industry. It’s an award winning rhythm game where you have to move to the beat of the music. Currently it’s 80% off bringing it to $2.99. Price like that, I had to get it.

A Story About My Uncle

Upon reading a Reddit thread about people’s recommendations on what to buy at the Steam Summer Sale, I stumbled upon a recommendation for A Story About My Uncle. I’m always a fan of story driven games and this caught my attention. It’s a first person platforming adventure game about a boy who is looking for his lost uncle. In trying to find his uncle, he ended up in a crazy world he couldn’t have imagined ever existing. Plus, it’s 85% off right now with a price of $1.94. Not a bad deal at all.

To the Moon

The first time I played To the Moon, it was before I had a Steam account and my other half was trying to broaden my horizons. I cried so hard playing this game, but didn’t have it in my own collection. If you haven’t played To the Moon, I highly suggest playing it. It’s a story driven game that will turn you into complete mush. Totally one of my favorite games out there. Plus, at 80% off with a price at $1.99 its more than worth getting. It’s so good.

One Shot

I’m a huge fan of Undertale, thus One Shot was recommend to me. It’s a top down puzzle adventure game with unique gameplay. In One Shot you guide a child to restore the world’s long dead sun. I have no clue what to expect, but I’m excited to play. Currently it’s 40% off with a price of $5.99. Check it out!

Life is Strange Complete  Season (Episodes 1-5)

Since the announcement of the second game, Life is Strange: Before the Storm at E3, I’ve been interested in seeing what Life is Strange is all about. Luckily I found a good bundle deal on all five episodes for 75% off bringing it down it $4.99. Worth checking out.

Soulless Ray of Hope

I also purchased Soulless Ray of Hope. The art style really drew my interest to this game and it’s 90% off bringing it down to $.99. So, why not buy it? “It’s a dollar,” I said to myself as clicking the purchase button.

I also had to buy Hollow Knight at the 34% off 9.89 price. It’s a game I’ve wanted for a while and it looks absolutely magnificent. Plus, Abzu at 78% off both the game and soundtrack with a price of only $5.61 for all of that, was a buy I couldn’t pass up. More Austin Wintory music please!

Either way, Steam has drained my wallet, but what better to spend your money on than video games? Reviews coming soon, it’s time to play.
