It’s been a long time since I’ve found a show that has kept me entertained for every minute of every episode. Westworld happens to be that show. Plus, I have totally fallen in love with it and highly suggest everyone watches it.
When I first heard of Westworld, it was described to me as a Western meets Science Fiction. I mean, they weren’t wrong. Yet, I was picturing something like Firefly. I was totally wrong there.
Westworld is about the future, where people can go to the past and live like the cowboys did back in those times. It’s a theme park, where you can shoot, kill, and screw lifelike robots. These robots are so lifelike that it gives the guest the feeling of actually doing these terrible things, without the consequence of actually doing it.
However, in this theme park called Westworld, something is happening not only with the robots, but with the people who run it as well. Things start to go screwy as you dive deeper and deeper into the story and you don’t know what’s reality anymore or what’s truth.
The entire time, I felt like a lost but intrigued little puppy while watching this show. I didn’t know what was happening, but it drew me into wanting to know more. I had to know more. Then, ten hours later I was at the end of the first season but craved for more.
The writing for this show is incredible. I can’t believe I was able to find something that kept me on the edge of my seat for ten hours, but I did. Admittedly, I have to say that my favorite character is the Man in Black, next would have to be Maeve. These two characters have to be the most complex character in the show besides Robert. Either way, if you haven’t watched Westworld, you should.
