Tormentor X Punisher Indie Game Review
There are very few games out there that I would enjoy when I’m absolutely full of anxiety and rage. That being said, Tormentor X Punisher was totally a game I found calming even with it’s violent and explicit language. Here are my thoughts on this not-so kid friendly game.
In Tormentor X Punisher you play a Demon Hunter who is out for demon blood. After hearing where she could find more demons to kill, she flies to the planet “Fuck You” to fight some demons. Everything can be killed in one hit, including yourself. The longer you play, the more the demons learn your playing style and adjust accordingly to punish you. There are even boss battles, where the bosses set traps to try to stop you. Remember, one hit and you’re dead. How long can you last?
I first saw Tormentor X Punisher at Denver Comic Con and met one of the creators, Beau Blyth there as well. I really didn’t understand how fun this game was for me until I played it at home. It’s a game where you’re out there to kill demons and cause as much violence as possible. However, you have to concentrate in order to make it far in this game. It was actually kind of therapeutic for me. Lately, I’ve been having a ton of anxiety and for moments that I’m playing this game, I don’t feel the weight of the world on my chest.
If anything though, there’s a lot of not-so okay words for kids in this game. If you’re not okay with your kids being around explicit language like “fuck”, then I would make sure to keep it away from the kiddos. I had a blast playing this game. Though with the violence and language, it may not be for everyone.
