Tales of Zestiria
Back in the day, I played a ton of console games. One of my most beloved games, besides the Final Fantasy series was Tales of Symphonia. I don’t remember much of it, since it was practically ten years ago that I played it but I knew I enjoyed it. So when I received Tales of Zestiria , I was really looking forward to playing this game.
In Tales of Zestiria, you follow the story of Sorey a young man who was raised by magical beings called the Seraphim. Yet, a majority of humans in this world cannot see the Seraphim, thus Soray is a special case. Sorey loves history, and is obsessed with stories of the Shepard. The Shepard is a chosen magical being who can bring peace to a world thrown into calamity. He loves to explore ruins trying to find more information on the Shepard. However, his world turns upside down when he finds a human woman in a ruin he was exploring and he takes her in for a few days to help her regain her strength.
When she leaves to go back to her city Ladylake, Sorey and his best friend Mikleo a water Seraphim encounter a hellion who is after this young woman. When Sorey and Mikleo go to help this woman, they discover that she is the princes of Ladylake and they warn her of the death threat. She then tells them of the sword pulling compitetion, that whoever pulls the sword will become the next Shepard. Yet, when Sorey and Mikleo go, they discover that it is a Seraphim who chooses the next Shepard. Naturally, none of the other humans know that she’s there. Yet, when a hellion attacks this festival Sorey takes action and is able to draw the sword, thus bonding with this Seraphim and becomes the next Shepard. He is then able to defeat the hellion.
From there, Sorey has to take the weight of the world on his shoulders, to go against the Lord of Calamity who is bringing darkness to their world.
So far, Tales of Zestiria has been pretty slow to tell it’s story. Lots of running around and talking to random people trying to figure out what to do next. That, and the game play is pretty simple when fighting hellions. I do have to say though, I really like the random bits of anime-like animation that they have put throughout the game when something big happens. I also like the outfits in Tales of Zestiria. I’m excited to cosplay Rose, who I have a feeling is going to be joining my quest here shortly. But I want to cosplay her merchant outfit. I also want to cosplay Edna. She’s pretty cute as well.
I shall continue my adventure in Tales of Zestiria. Hopefully the game will pick up soon.
