Octodad Dadliest Catch Indie Game Review
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a humanoid octopus? In Octodad Dadliest Catch, you can finally experience the life of a humanoid cephalopod who is trying to live everyday life.
In Octodad Dadliest Catch, you play Octodad. He is an octopus dressed in human clothing, trying to live life as a normal human being. His tentacles have a mind of their own and moving him proves hilariously difficult. He has to hide his true self from his family, and does this by doing mundane tasks like mowing the lawn and grilling burgers.
On top of that, his neighbor a chef continually is trying to kill him. Can Octodad keep this charade up, even though he practically destroys everything he touches? You’ll have to play to find out.
Octodad is SO hard to control, which is purposefully done. It’s hard to be a dad, especially when you’re a weird one. When you try to move certain legs to grab a certain item, more times than not you end up with the wrong thing. Plus there are so many expectations that are put on him, when he’s just a boneless cephalopod. Lifting an ax and chopping wood? Mowing the lawn? Grilling burgers? Pouring milk without smacking your kid in the face? It’s a hard life.
Overall though, it’s a fun game. Just watching the hilarious movements of Octodad when you’re trying to do one simple task was fun but frustrating at the same time. Who knew that being a dad is such a hard occupation. This is especially true when you’re an octopus.
