An indie game that I’ve enjoyed in the past is Gang Beasts. It’s actually one of the first indie games that I ever played with my significant other. It’s a game that is simple enough to understand the goal of it and it is also one of those game that you can play with a group of friends.
Gang Beasts is a game where you play these gummy or clay like humanoid creatures. You can choose from the human skin, to a human in a bear costume, to even a human in a chicken costume. To play, you essentially button mash to try to push off or throw off your opponent from the main standing area. There are so many different skins to try, it’s fun to find out which one you choose to represent yourself.
On top of that, there are a bunch of different levels. The main goal is to be the last one to not fall off from your set stage to battle. You can punch, kick, grab and throw you opponent. Though just like in clay or gummy action, it takes a bit for you to throw punches which is a feature I love.
I highly enjoy Gang Beasts. It’s a good stress relief as you’re trying to kick and punch your opponent into unconsciousness and then toss them into the incinerator. For me I found the characters a little bit difficult to control. I liked this aspect due to the image that we were trying to achieve with the clay like characters. It’s a challenge to grab your friend’s character just right, so you can land a punch and throw the opponent over the ledge. It’s a ton of fun though.
Gang Beasts I feel is a game for all ages. There’s violence in anything anymore, however little clay action ones I don’t see as being too bad of a thing. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to play Gang Beasts.
