Doctor Strange came out recently to theaters. It’s another wonderful addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is always a fantastic time for the family. I have to say, I had high hopes going in and wasn’t let down.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, when Hydra was lining up to kill millions of people who would pose a threat to them, and Steven Strange’s name appeared on their program, I knew that this was coming. Dr. Steven Strange, a genius of a doctor who ends up becoming a sorcerer.
In Doctor Strange, you’re introduced to Dr. Steven Strange, a man who used to do figurative magic with his hands in the Operating Room ends up doing something stupid to loose everything he had accomplished. He looks for a miracle and ends up finding it in the ways of sorcery. This brilliant genius has to come over many feats and finds himself having to bring down a greater evil in order to save the world from darkness. Can he do it? You’ll have to watch to find out.
I have to admit, I’ve had a HUGE crush on Benedict Cumberbatch for several years now. His deep voice with his English accent and his eyes, I totally fall in love every time. So when I heard that Marvel was looking at Benedict Cumberbatch for Dr. Strange, I was confused to be honest. I mean, Dr. Strange is American with an American accent.
Little did I realize just how fantastic of an actor he is. Benedict had me full on believing that he was Dr. Strange. On top of that, it was only strange at first with him speaking in an American accent. Eventually, I forgot that it was Benedict Cumberbatch. Doctor Strange was not only action packed, cute and funny but also was amazing when it came to the special effects. I was full on thrown into this world and loved every minute of it.
Either way, if you’re a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, you’ll enjoy Doctor Strange. I believed it to be absolutely fantastic and as always, be sure to stay through the credits.
