This Friday Denver Comic Con is hosting their annual beer party, debuting the official beer of Denver Comic Con 2016, Snape-ricot! You can join in on these festivities May 20th at 7:30pm at Stoney’s Bar and Grill.
I have always enjoyed the Denver Comic Con beer party releases since I started going to them back in 2013. It’s always a good time to hang out with fellow fans of the convention, share a pint of the new brew and start to get excited for this years convention. It’s become tradition at this point in time!
This years chosen beer name is a tribute to one of my favorite actors, Alan Rickman who unfortunately passed away earlier this year. Snape-ricot is named after Alan Rickman’s role in Harry Potter where he played Severus Snape and supposedly fits the apricot pale ale that supposedly has many unexpected layers of interesting taste and personality. I haven’t tried it yet, but that’s what I’ve read.
Either way, I will be there and I will be trying this beer! Alan Rickman was a fantastic actor and it will be great being able to try a beer that was named after him. It’s amazing how Denver Comic Con teams up with Breckenridge Brewery, local to Denver every year to bring us a new convention beer.
If you’re one of the first 200 people to order this new brew, you get a free limited edition pint glass featuring Snape-ricot’s artwork!
I know that I will be singing “Snape, Snape, Severus Snape, DUMBLEDORE!” from Harry Potter Puppet Pals on YouTube while drinking this beer on Friday. I hope to see you all there!
